If you’ve checked out my youtube channel lately, you may have seen my haul video where I showed you some of my recent purchases. If not, go check my channel out- I post a lot of lifestyle/vlog sort of content, just like this on blog, so I’m sure you’ll find something you like! ☺️
For today’s post I’ll be sharing with you what I bought from glossier, how I got shipping to Australia, and my honest review of their products.
I feel like this brand has become so popular lately. There’s lots of talk about wanting to enhance natural features and get that make up look without actually looking like you’re wearing anything.
I for one, am definitely a fan. The brand is minimal but gorgeous and a little extra.
Can we take a minute to talk about the packaging?!
And so, yes. I bought a few things with money I saved and I’m so happy I did.
As most of you would know, Glossier doesn’t ship to Australia. I had googled something along the lines of “How to get Glossier shipping to Australia” and was really surprised when I came across post mate, a service that has you ship your products to an address in the country you’re purchasing items from, and then forwards them to you. It is a little costly, understandably, because there’s lots of to and fro and it isn’t as easy as ordering and having a parcel at your doorstep a few days later. The whole process took maybe a week and a half. This isn’t to say that it isn’t an option to be consider as it’s very helpful!
The products I decided to try out were:
+ milky jelly cleanser
thoughts: definitely not a bad cleanser. I tried it out the other night and it smelt lovely and was lightweight. It didn’t cause any irritation or redness, no breakouts, which is always important in cleansers as you use them often. They need to be suited to your skin.
+ cloud paints in colours storm and beam
thoughts: these two were definitely my favourites! I wore them the other day when I went shopping and they were gorgeous. as displayed on the glossier site, I tried both colours together with the darker up the top and the lighter on the bottom. The colour was pretty graduated.
+ wowder powder with matching brush
thoughts: this loose powder definitely lives up to its’ name! I have a few blemishes on my face, mostly slightly darker spots, and this did a great job of concealing and improving the look of my face overall. It gave me a beautiful matte look which I love. I’m a fan of dewy skin too but this was something a bit different.
+ generation g sheer matte lipstick in crush
thoughts: this product is very simple but goes on so well! the colour is deep and gorgeous and the lipstick itself is very hydrating. It doesn’t dry my lips out or cling to dry spots like some lipsticks do. crush is a dark raspberry colour and suits me well. I’m very glad I got it!
+ lidstar in the colour cub
thoughts: this is another of my favourite products! lidstar is basically a thicker liquid eyeshadow- I got mine in rose gold. It’s got some beautiful pink tones and overall looks wonderful. I tried it out yesterday when I went out to lunch. I used the applicator wand that came with it but I’m thinking I might get a better more even coverage just using my finger so I’ll try that next time!
+ birthday balm
thoughts: okay. okay. I LOVE THIS. birthday balm dotcom is undoubtedly hyped about, and for good reason. It’s not sticky, smells like heaven, and you only need a little bit of product to see results. definitely a product I will be using all the time and will repurchase!
+ clear lip gloss
thoughts: this wasn’t bad. It went on smoothly and was light and very shiny. It was a good lip gloss, but I don’t think there’s enough product for money. I’ve had a lipgloss sort of like this before, but from urban outfitters. I got it years back, when I went to England. I was definitely due for an upgrade though, and this does the job!
