Welcome to the fifth installment in my productivity series. I’m so happy to hear that you have benefitted from and enjoyed this detour from my usual content- I’m planning to incorporate more of it into my everyday posts!
Today I’ll be sharing with you my top ten lifestyle and wellness podcast picks. A podcast is video without imagery, just audio. It’s my go to for when I want to engage with inspiring content but remain focused on the task at hand. This could be as simple as folding clothes or tidying my room but I’ve also listened to podcasts while I work and most recently whilst walking the beach on holiday. Essentially, it doesn’t take away from what you’re doing in the ways a netflix show or youtube video would. Instead it provides good entertainment and more often that not teaches me something. I hope you find something for you!
What We Said Podcast, intended to inspire and entertain, is run by real life best friends Jaci Marie and Chelsea Jade who well and truly bridge the distance between podcaster and listener! You truly feel like you’re sitting in a room with your two best friends. They have this impeccable 90’s vibe that is just so attractive and feel good. Jaci is a Los Angeles based content creator and Chelsea an author, musician and holistic health coach from Nashville, Tennessee. Every Tuesday they gather together and chat candidly about health, business, relationships and life in general. A few recent episodes were on the pair’s travel stories and their take on various conspiracy theories. Occasionally they are joined by guests but most often share and discuss the stories of friends and fans. They also run an advice column answering questions on the last week of each month.
The I Love You So Much Podcast is hosted by twenty three year old Lifestyle Vlogger Kenzie Elizabeth and features interviews with leading influencers, artists, authors, experts, entrepreneurs, bloggers and thought leaders, all of whom discuss a broad range of topics. Kenzie’s podcast pretty much covers it all, serving as a guide to effective branding, relationships, productivity, mental health and living out the best life you deserve. I appreciate that she doesn’t shy away from the tough topics and is genuinely invested in the stories of her guests and their walks of life. I find her content to be quite balanced and realistic. There truly is an episode to suit everyone! Among her lifestyle content there are episodes on mindfulness, forgiveness and life after prison as well microbiomes and whole body health. In general she’s quite bubbly, vibrant and her episodes are really engaging! I enjoy listening to recaps of her week as well as her favourites of the moment. She really seems to bond with her guests and asks great questions.
The Thick and Thin podcast, hosted by New York Influencer Katy Belotte is an absolute gem. Her podcast is a recent find of mine, but I am so taken by her work. Each podcast episode she releases is thoroughly researched and many delve into the lives and stories of brilliant people from times gone by who may not have found their way into the spotlight. Most recently she showed her support and stance on the Black Lives Matter movement through a humbling and awe inspiring episode on some of history’s most influential and radical people of colour. Katy takes great care to do justice in her storytelling and speaks with kindness and empathy always. She is another unique and eloquent creator who stands out for all the right reasons. As well as these deeper topics, Katy chats about love, lifestyle, girl talk and gives plenty of solid advice along the way!
Happy Hour pretty much sums things up! Gretchen Geraghty is a beautifully positive ray of sunshine and Youtube Personality. She’s twenty three and a recent university graduate living in Boston, Massachusetts. She shares snippets of her daily life along with the joys and struggles of growing up and transitioning to bigger and better things. Gretchen is occasionally joined by her friends or a guest but usually records podcast episodes solo. She chats about her current favourites, gives relationship advice, has plenty of deep and meaningful conversations with her listeners and loves to spread her light whenever possible. She’s a sensitive speaker and has the ability to discuss the harder aspects of life with grace and whilst still remaining hopeful and uplifting. She’s also a puppy mama to Brody, the most gorgeous Labrador!
Lauren Elizabeth is a business savvy midwestern blonde from Los Angeles who shares her best and worst moods of the week. She’s unapologetically herself, completely relatable and downright hilarious. I love how she begins each podcast episode with a ramble about her everyday and the things that caught her attention recently. She regularly features top influencers killing the Instagram, Blogging, Youtube and content creation game. Most recently she spoke with The Skinny Confidential about her secrets to productivity and being an utter boss woman. Mood podcast is casual and relaxed but also chock full of unique advice. I don’t think there’s anything Lauren hasn’t yet covered, apart from politics, which she strictly refrains from speaking about! Get ready for plenty of Q&A’s, real talk, chats about wellness, tea spilling and the guide on how to properly adult.
Happy Hour with Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott is hosted by good friends and entrepreneurial creators of hip fashion label Jagger and Stone. The two are an iconic duo, hilariously funny, brash and undoubtedly themselves. You can tell that these gals are very in tune with each other and used to picking up where the other leaves off! They chat all things society and culture, starting a business and tell wild party stories. Occasionally they’ll also play games on the podcast. Truth or Dare, Never Have I Ever and more. They’re Australian too- Queenslanders. Finally I can understand the culture and relate to influencers on a deeper level! I feel like us Aussies are quite under represented in the podcasting world! I’d just assumed they were American initially. The accent however, the same one I must have but never hear in myself, gave that away pretty fast. Big haha moment!
The Health Code, run by aussies Sarah and Kurt from Sarah’s Day is an absolute favourite of mine when it comes to easy listening. The perfectly matched pair, as well as being a ball of laughs, are wonderfully down to earth and come across as so genuine. Sarah is most well known for her youtube channel where she shares her lifestyle, fitness regimen, holistic health journey and her sweet baby boy Fox. I don’t follow along with many youtubers, but am a long term subscriber to Sarah’s Day. She is a great role model and never forgets to inject reality into all that she shares- It’s this authenticity that I admire so much. Despite this, she is bubbly and has a great personality that always shines through in her videos.
Naturally, being such a fan, I started listening to the Health Code podcast. Over there, Sarah and Kurt answer burning questions, address any beliefs and misconceptions their community has about health and fitness and generally aim to guide and inspire. Sarah has released an activewear line, two eight week fitness guides, a loving earth x sarah’s day deluxe mix and has a cookbook currently in the works!
The Girly Girl Podcast is hosted by Kentucky teen Carmen Applegate who felt inspired during lockdown to try something new! She also runs Cara A Carmen, a new teen lifestyle blog covering topics of organisation, self care, productivity, beauty, fashion and high school life. I’ve been following along with Carmen’s content creation journey since she began a few months ago and can tell you honestly that she is incredibly professional across all her platforms. She has a keen eye for design and an interesting take on current events. I enjoy listening to her musings and reading her blog posts which always have a unique take to them. Her podcast episodes are lovely and chatty and Carmen’s air of confidence is so admirable. You can tell that a lot of love and effort was put into planning out her episodes and covering all aspects of topics. Above all though, she is so down to earth and real- that’s something we need to see more of in the content creation world! I love that she shares her highs and lows of the week with each episode.
Detail Therapy is hosted by the incredibly talented bestselling Author, award winning Youtuber and entrepreneurial business owner Amy Landino. Her podcast episodes are chock full of career advice and give me the burst of motivation I need to get up and going. Lately I’ve started thinking seriously about my next steps career wise. I know the next two years will be full on but I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me next. Through a series of chats, Amy encourages you to go after the life you want and really seek it with fervour. She delves into the specifics of how to attain your ideal lifestyle and interviews successful people who have made it. By digging into the finer details of their daily life, she builds for us a complete picture of what they did to better themselves and how we can work the same magic in our lives. From what they ate to breakfast to how much sleep they get on average, these are the stories of real people just like you and me. The only difference is that they have unlocked their potential. We all get the same twenty four hours in a day, after all. I love joining Amy as she gives expert advice on how to be your most productive, smash your career and finance goals, foster healthy relationships with yourself and others, create an impeccable brand and manage your time effectively. Occasionally she’ll also talk travel which makes me so happy! Even the mention of going to new places gives me those much needed wanderlust vibes. Detail therapy- lots of details, a little therapy and inspiration to help you make your passion possible.
Carly Allison is a sixteen year old life, style and wellness blogger and podcaster from Seattle, Washington. Chances are you’ve heard of her before, whether here on wordpress or another social platform. She has been podcasting for going on two years now and frequently interviews and features a multitude of other creators. This unique segment has allowed her and I to collaborate on various occasions and chat about social media, mental health, sustainable fashion and other topics of interest. Her episodes are very chatty and I love how this conversational style makes her feel like even more of a friend. As a side note, if you’re interested in learning more about Carly, read this! We talk about all things veganism, fashion and travel.
Liddy Dow is an eighteen year old fashion blogger sharing classy everyday and dressy looks for petite gals like herself. I’ve been following along with itsliddystyle for a while now and was thrilled when she announced her secret project- starting a podcast. I adore her style and constantly draw inspiration from her outfits and room decor. I love that she shops on a budget and is of a similar age to me. This way it’s much easier to relate to her! Liddy shares short and sweet episodes designed to motivate and enhance your fashion sense. She even delves into her career dreams. Liddy has quite the interesting backstory- eighteen years ago she was adopted in China and currently lives with her adoptive family in Jacksonville, Florida.

But other than that I have never heard of any of these – will definitely check some of them out, I am always on the hunt for good podcasts! Hope you’re well xx
I am indeed, thank you Fiona! Glad you enjoyed the post and hope you’re doing well also. Podcasts are a lot of fun to listen to in the colder seasons! When I’m out on a run when it’s hot, for instance, I’m more likely to just listen to music. At home though I’ll cuddle up, settle in and pop on a podcast!
Enjoy your weekend lovely x
You too x

What a lovely list, Maryam! I rarely listen to podcasts but I really want to get into them more. The only podcast I listen to happens to be on this list and it is Katy Belotte’s Thick and Thin. I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about her episodes being so unique and well researched. Whenever I listen to her podcast, I always learn so much about the lives of those who helped contribute so much! (My favorite was the one she did on the Red Cross founder – Clara Barton. I learned so much!) I will definitely have to check out the others that you mentioned.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend. x
Thank you very much for reading Kaycee! Your constant support means a lot. That episode sounds interesting! I’ll have to have a flick through Katy’s podcast and find it. Will let you know what I think ☺️ she seems to interview quite the diverse range of guests! It’s brilliant really. Have a wonderful week ahead x
