Hello Madison! Thank you for agreeing to this interview. First off, can you tell us about you and your blog? How did you get started and what are your passions?
I’m Madi, a teenager with a passion for creating. I’m a high school student in my senior year studying English, Design, Art, Film and, unfortunately, maths too. I look forward to sharing my creative journey here through fashion, beauty tips, design, inspirational words and some real-life content. Here are some things you should know about me: I love photography, my favourite ice cream flavour is mint, I’m a dog mama to two adorable Cavoodles, Charlie + Coco and I have a passion for fashion.
My blog is named Little Miss Luna Eclipse because I wanted to share my growth both creatively and as a person. I’ve always been fascinated by the moon & the mythological power it holds. The moon symbolises many different things to different cultures- to me, the moon is a symbol of light in the darkness, eternity and a sign of ever-changing beauty. Eclipses are rare celestial events that also have many different meanings and legends attached to them. I like to think of this event as two celestial entities meeting for a brief moment, like old friends reuniting before being pulled apart until their paths cross again in the distant future.
I started my blog at the end of 2019, mainly because I wanted a place to express myself through fashion, writing and photography. I began with an Instagram account and then launched my website a few weeks later which I designed to fit my brand and aesthetic. My passions include photography, design, art, film & journalling.
What is your philosophy on life and why?
My philosophy on life-that’s a tough question! I believe that we as humans were not put on this earth to attend school, graduate, go to college and work a nine to five day behind a desk. I believe we are supposed to explore the beautiful planet we live on and foster connections and relationships. That’s another reason I created my blog- to share my thoughts on life and to perhaps have my future career be online so I could travel and work remotely.
Where do you live and what is the best thing about your hometown?
I live in the Garden City of Darling Downs, Queensland, Australia. The best thing about my hometown is the Gardens- we aren’t called the Garden City for nothing. The parks are always beautiful and lots of people like my grandparents have amazing backyards. The nature in my hometown is truly awesome. We also have tons of great places to eat nearby and a bowling alley which I love to hang at!
What does your creative process look like? Where do you draw inspiration from?
What do you believe sets you apart from other lifestyle bloggers? What are your strengths?
What sets me apart from other lifestyle bloggers is that most of my images aren’t planned, they are just in the moment. I always aim to share the good and the bad. I’m honest about the girl behind the blog.
You enjoy interior design and decorating. Where do you hope your passion for this will take you next? Do you have any hands on experience in the field?
I do love interior design, yes! I’m beginning my senior year of high school this year so I’m still weighing up my career options- interior designer is pretty high on the list. I don’t have any experience as of yet apart from my own room studio studio.
What are your favourite subjects to photograph and why? What story do you wish to tell when snapping a picture?
My current favourite subjects to photograph are nature & landscapes. When I take a photograph I want to capture that tiny precious moment so it can remain preserved. I’m hoping to gain some more experience with portraiture and I love product photography.
How do you prepare for a photoshoot and decide on a concept or theme to go with?
I usually base wardrobe items off my chosen location but sometimes, if it’s more off the cuff, I’ll just pick a plain wall or background. I have a colour theme in my feed so I always keep that in mind- I’m currently doing a fun and bright summer theme and am loving the effect.
What would you say your style is? Do you gravitate towards similar themes when decorating and with your dress sense?
I’d probably describe my style as boho chic fashion wise whilst my decor style is more of a modern bohemian. My fashion taste usually morphs and changes with the seasons & trends. My specific vibe may change but the overarching design is modern boho.
What are your goals for the upcoming year? Where do you see yourself in ten years time?
My goals for this New Year are to be consistent with content, my journaling, to save enough for my first car and to focus on my studies. In ten years time, I’d ideally like to be cruising along the Queensland coastline in my Jeep Wrangler with my dream guy. I’ll be in a creative career that I love and travelling frequently. Places on my list are Alaska, Hawaii, Paris, London and more!
