Journal Prompts and Mindful Habits for Self Discovery, Alignment and Determining Your Personal Values

Cut out the noise and listen to your intuition- in this place where you find yourself unsure, take time to imagine what you want to see, feel and experience. Take time to cut out the noise and madness of the outside world and listen to your intuition calling, a voice from within, encouraging you to delve deeper.

It is okay to be at a place of struggle. Struggle is just another word for growth. Even the most evolved beings find themselves in a place of struggle now and then. In fact, struggle is a sure sign to them that they are expanding. It is their indication of real and important progress.

If you are in a tangle of emotions after a disappointment and you are trying to stay positive and look forward while also grieving what was lost, just know that this is all a part of being human. And as hard as it is right now, it does not make you any less worthy of the good experiences that are still possible.

Maybe it’s not supposed to be easy for you. Maybe you’re one of the rare few who can handle tough times and still choose to be a loving person. Maybe things are going the way they are because you’re built for it.

Being content isn't about settling for less than what you wish you had. Being content is realising that there is beauty all around you even before you get where you want to be.

When you feel weak and overly frustrated about the things you can’t yet do, wishes you can’t seem to achieve, time you cannot turn back, talents you aren’t acquiring as easily as you’d hoped, take heed.

Hold on tight to hope when chaos ensues around you and you’re not sure what is going to happen in the future. Take a deep breath. Centre yourself in peace. Hold fast to the hope that no matter what, good things are coming up ahead.

Be patient towards all that is unsolved in your heart and try to learn to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not constantly seek the answers in this present moment as they cannot be given to you.

I’ve learnt that no matter what happens, or how bad it all seems, life does go on and you will wake up feeling better and with a new perspective tomorrow. I’ve learnt that you can tell a lot about a person from the way they handle three things- a rainy day, lost luggage and tangled Christmas tree lights.

The sweetest of slow days with @tessguinery and her words of comfort- When I say I need time alone, what I really mean is that I want to move all the furniture around and then move it all back. I want to paint something and leave the brushes to bristle all because I decided to go wash my hair. I’ll forget to take my multi vitamins- I was busy trying on dresses.

Take control of your thoughts. It’s not always easy, granted. It takes strength. However, just like anybody can become physically strong, anyone can develop mental fortitude through effort and practice. This will become your new normal and come to feel natural over time.

I hope you find what you’re looking for out there. I hope you find the kind of happiness that exists on your own terms. I hope you truly take the time to figure out what moves you, what encourages your soul, what you deeply crave from life and I hope you have the courage to chase that.

You have everything you need. Often times, as we journey to dreams come true, we feel the need to have more. It’s not uncommon to feel as if you need more finances, more time, more connections, more skills, more resources and more influence in order to get to where you need to go.

An interesting response to a common yet profound question- in all honesty, are you happy? no, but I am curious. I am curious in my sadness just as I am curious in my joy. To fully comprehend this experience and unlock the depth of meaning behind it, I must question it. I refuse to take it at face value and answer in a most simple way.

You can feel when it’s time to move into your life’s next chapter. Trust it. When you plant seeds in the garden, you don’t dig them up everyday to see if they have sprouted yet. You simply wait patiently, water them and clear away the weeds- you know that the seeds will grow in time.

“I make my ramen the way a friend taught me in eleventh grade. Every fall, I listen to a playlist made for me by a boy I drove across a border to hook up with. I eat sushi because a girl who won’t talk to me anymore encouraged me to try it. I eat Indian food because my best friend’s parents ordered for me before I knew what I enjoyed. There are movies I watch because someone I love adored them first. I am a mosaic of everyone and everything I’ve loved and encountered, even for a heartbeat.
